Invest in a Diversified, Zero-Waste,
True Biorefinery with
Strong Potential Long-Term Returns
ATTENTION READERS: This website is designed specifically to inform potentially interested investors about baseline information in support of commercialization efforts of Community BioRefineries, LLC (CBR) (www.communitybiorefinery.com). For those who wish to move ahead with us, a dedicated investment entity, the “Missouri CBR Joint Venture, LLC” was established to facilitate overall investor participation, to include equity designation in the specific production facility(ies) funded. Ownership and Operational Control issues are described in detail via the Private Placement Memorandum as well as in the CBR Business Plan. Included on this site are various links to the main CBR site, which is information-heavy and designed to support due diligence efforts.
Community BioRefineries, LLC (CBR) has successfully completed decades of R&D, resulting in a unique bio-technology solution to a long-standing problem. Specifically, how to create the platform chemical of bio-butanol, to create the original true bio-diesel (no petroleum), on an industrial scale. Once this question was answered, a new question presented itself – which was how to produce this highly sought-after bio-alcohol at an affordable price. Bio-butanol can be used to not only create biofuels, but also to generate significant green electricity.
After collaborating with the USDA and several large universities, that question was clearly answered – and also presented incredible “fringe benefits” to the process in the form of numerous, high-value co-products. Some of these bio-based products include additional bio-alcohol platform chemicals, biodegradable plastics, high-value food components and much more. Prominent scientists working for many years – unsuccessfully – to accomplish what CBR has accomplished, have been silenced.
Community BioRefinery (CBR) transforms locally grown agricultural feedstocks into premium plant proteins, nutraceuticals, ABE bio-alcohols (Bio-Acetone, Bio-Butanol, Ethanol), Bio-Hydrogen, and clean resilient green electricity. The USDA’s proprietary ASPEN Plus study (to determine feasibility) concluded that it is reasonable to anticipate a CBR facility’s average rate of return* of up to 15-25% annually. All this designed to benefit rural economic revival, and U.S. energy security.
*Based upon specific feedstocks used and target end product sought.
Independent third-party engineering has been accomplished; the engineers concluded that:
1) the process does exactly what CBR claimed it would;
2) the process can produce the products CBR claimed it would; and
3) the process is scalable. (CBR will limit scaling of the process to avoid degrading products and subsequent diminishing returns.)
What Makes the CBR Process Unique
- Accepts virtually any sort of agricultural plant material as feedstock (See Community BioRefinery)
- Breaks it down into micron-sized particles using a MRT mechanical reduction technology approach
- Separates, isolates, and recovers individual ‘liberated’ plant components
- Produces 20+* high-value products in a single integrated process
- Begins with the end in mind — focused on high-value bio-alcohols (ABE: Bio-Acetone, Bio-Butanol, Ethanol), while naturally generating the full portfolio of co-products
- Uses only cold water to convey materials — no heat or harsh chemicals used
- Achieves 100% molecule utilization — every component has a specific purpose
- Generates zero waste
- Recycles hyper-pure process water back to the start of the cycle
- Produces enhanced-nutritional outputs (pure plant proteins, high-oleic oils, resistant starch, etc.) that qualify as premium nutraceuticals
- USDA/FDA will qualify CBR products as premium nutraceuticals
* CBR anticipates there will be far more product’s possible, particularly in the nutraceutical and bio-medical applications. We cannot list these products unless/until appropriate clinical trials are underway.
Why CBR Represents a Compelling Opportunity:
CBR’s proprietary mechanical reduction technology, zero-waste process produces 20+ high-value products from virtually any plant material. This diversified portfolio de-risks the investment while capturing explosive growth in food/nutraceuticals and organic alcohols for renewable fuels and clean/green energy.
The benefits of this new, unique, and cutting-edge process are many – not only to CBR and its investors – but to the agriculture community and farmers everywhere – nationwide and worldwide. The markets for its products are many and are expanding. CBR invites enlightened, accredited investors to join us on our continuing journey as partners. To that end, we offer the following overview:
What value can I expect from investing in Community BioRefineries, LLC?
Using its special process, CBR can produce, on a continuous basis, 20 or more high-value bio-products. We include herein a list of those products, which market(s) each of these products fall under, and what the projected CAGR for each of those markets going forward. What Community BioRefineries, LLC has is a “Diversified Product Portfolio”.
What’s so special about the CBR process?
The Process accepts virtually any sort of plant* material, breaks it down into micron-sized particles, separates, isolates, and recovers these ‘liberated” plant components, and creates the 20+ products mentioned above. Beginning with the end in mind, CBR focuses on creating specific bio-alcohols, but the process provides the rest of the products as it moves toward that end point. In doing so,
- No heat or chemicals are used; only cold water is used to convey everything;
- Every molecule is used for a specific purpose;
- There is no waste created in the process;
- The remaining process water is hyper pure and becomes recycled back to the start;
- Because of the realities of this process, the resulting food components (pure plant proteins, high oleic oil, resistant starch, etc.) have enhanced nutrition levels and fall into the “nutraceutical’ category.
* NOTE: In addition to plant materials, CBR discovered how to also introduce dairy cheese waste into its process and create bio-alcohols, biodegradable plastics, and bio-hydrogen – leaving the remaining water pristine. Proper disposal of dairy cheese waste has been a thorn in the side of the dairy industry at least since the formation of the EPA. The USDA and universities throughout the country have worked for years on how to deal with this common problem. CBR has succeeded.
What type of Investor is CBR looking for?
- CBR is looking for Accredited Investors who are truly long-term investors, not merely ‘speculators’ looking to make a quick buck and then bail out;
- Investors who understand the value of what the company can create/produce and the value of those products;
- Investors who can see the potential of what CBR brings to the table;
Investors who are not looking to control the company in order to sell off the parts and move on.
What level of capitalization does CBR seek?
For its flagship facility, CBR seeks a total of $150 million. To soften the effort, it has broken the fund-raising effort into three Phases:
- Phase I: $5M;
- Phase II: $25 M;
- Phase III: $120M.
– To incentivize investors, share values start low and increase for each successive Phase;
– To mitigate risk, Investors in the first two Phases will see their invested funds repaid – with interest – once the facility is operating commercially; however, the investors/shareholders will continue to retain their equity.
What is the minimum investment level?
- Phase 1 – $50,000 – all Units sold in blocks of 25,000 Units
- Phase 2 – $50,000 – all Units sold in blocks of 10,000 Units;
- Phase 3 – $50,000 – all Units sold in blocks of 3,571.4 Units
- What are the potential investment sources?
- Accredited Individual investors;
- Investor groups, e.g., Ag Co-ops, Accredited Investor Clubs, etc.
- Communities
- Federal or State grants;
- Corporate entities
- State entities via Public-Private-Partnerships
This is not an offer to sell securities. Investments involve risk of loss of principal. See PPM for full details.
